Theodoros Zachariadis

  • Theodoros Zachariadis is an Assistant Professor at the Cyprus University of Technology, teaching environmental economics and energy resource management. He has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He is a member of the Domain Committee on Transport and Urban Development of the European COST programme, an associate editor of the international Journal ‘Energy Economics’ and national representative of Cyprus for the theme ‘Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials’ in the European Union’s ‘Horizon 2020’ programme. In the recent past he has served at the Standing Committee for Life, Earth and Environmental Sciences of the European Science Foundation. He is the recipient of the 2009 Research Prize of the Republic of Cyprus. He edited the book “Cars and Carbon – Automobiles and European Climate Policy in a Global Context,” which was published by Springer in 2012. His research interests are in transport and environment as well as in energy and environmental economics and policy.
