Siwa Msangi

  • Siwa Msangi is a Senior Research Fellow within the Environment and Production Technology Division and co-leads IFPRI’s research theme on Global Food and Natural Resources. He has been at IFPRI since 2004, when he graduated from UC Davis with a PhD in Agricultural & Resource Economics. His work focuses on the major socio-economic and bio-physical drivers affecting future trends in agricultural production and markets, and their impacts on nutrition, poverty and the environment. Dr. Msangi manages a research portfolio that includes the economic and environmental implications of biofuels, climate change impacts and adaptation policy, aquaculture and future fish demand/supply and he also contributes towards IFPRI’s research theme on natural resource management, through his work on surface and groundwater policy in Asia and Africa. Siwa Msangi is a citizen of Tanzania.
