Marcelle McManus

  • Dr. Marcelle McManus is a Senior Lecturer within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University Bath, UK. Her primary research interest is in the use of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to improve products and systems. In particular she is interested in the life cycle environmental impact of renewable energy systems and how LCA can, and cannot, be used to help determine approaches to a secure, low carbon energy future. She is an investigator on numerous research projects funded by UK research councils, EU and industry. These include the EPSRC Supergen Bioenergy Hub, two BBSRC partnership grants and a project funded by Wessex Water looking at how LCA and LCC can be used together in the water industry.  She has published a number of papers, and has been awarded academic prizes including the IMechE George Stephenson Prize, 2008 and the University’s John Willis Prize, 2011.
