Davis, Sarah: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

  • Dr. Sarah Davis is a Bioenergy Feedstocks Analyst in the Energy Biosciences Institute and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Biology at the University of Illinois with expertise in ecosystem ecology. Her research focuses on synthesizing physiological and bio-geochemical responses of ecosystems to different management practices by combining empirical data with process modeling. She has conducted regional analyses of carbon and nitrogen cycling in temperate forests, tall-grass prairies, and agro-ecosystems in order to assess the potential of different land use practices to reduce atmospheric greenhouse gases. At the University of Illinois, Dr. Davis currently investigates the potential for sustainable development of different biofuel crop alternatives including Miscanthus x giganteus, Panicum virgatum, Zeamays, mixed tall-grass prairie communities, Agave spp., and woody feedstocks.
